2 CEU Hours - 20210184 Advanced Burglar Alarms 2021; A sequel to Basic Burglar Alarm Detection and Operation; This class for the individual that has taken the Basic introduction class, or has at least 3 years’ experience in the field. Subjects include Device selection, Design and layout, Partitions and zones. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

4 CEU Hours – 20190202  Basic Burglar Alarm Installation 2019; This class covers installation and use including detection devices, programming options and features are part of this class.   False alarm prevention including the CPO1 requirements as required by many communities has been added. A non-brand specific class for the moderately experienced alarm installer.  This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours -20190437 Basics for Telco and Cable 2020; This Class is an overview of the requirements for Grounding, Bonding, and general rules for wire and cable installations as well as best practices for termination and certification. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.


2 CEU Hours - 20190146 Basics of Fire Alarms 2019; Non-Brand specific covering NFPA and Electrical code requirements for Fire alarms and fire reporting. Dealing with the AHJ and determining who the AHJ is. The liabilities and responsibilities for testing and reporting are also covered. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours – 20180659 Bonding For Communications Systems 250.94; This course is a 2 code hour CEU presentation for the Power Limited Tech as well as others concerned with Bonding Equipment and Bonding Ground Connections for Telephone, Cable system providers as well as Satellite and related technologies. This course is intended for inspectors, electricians, power limited technicians, unlicensed electrical workers and individuals involved with the installation of electrical systems for building and structures, the installation of communications services delivered via twisted pairs, coaxial cables, optical fibers, and those systems employing exterior-mounted antennas. 2 CE Hours - 20210183 Chapter 8 References 2021; Other sections of the code do not apply to chapter 8 unless specifically referenced.   This class covers the places that does reference other sections of the code, more than 37 places are referenced. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours – 20200332 Class 2 and Class 3 Circuits 2020; This class is a 4 hour CEU NEC code class.  This class includes the changes and the additions to the code for 2017.  Including the changes as they relate to PoE and other power and listing changes. Other topics include control and signal circuits, Circuit identification and installation requirements.  This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 2021 Environmental Monitoring 2021; This is a class for all individuals who are concerned about the new Carbon Monoxide law, as well as Smoke and other environmental concerns. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours – 20180658 Fire Stop 101 2018; This course is an important part of all installation projects. Proper fire stop is covered for new construction as well as retrofit applications. 2 CEU Hours - 20200009 Grounding & Bonding For Antenna Systems 2020; The Satellite Grounding and Bonding per the NEC 2020 edition is a comprehensive review of why we ground and Bond and what the UL and NEC requirements are for Antennae installations and coax distribution and Cable TV installations. 2 CEU Hours - 20200331 MN Rules 2020; An updated review of the Rules for Licensing and Inspection in Minnesota. Provides updated information on on-line renewal, CE requirements, and filing, deadline review and new fee schedules. This class meets the State requirement for Rules / Technical hours.

4 CEU Hours - 20210173 MN RULES FOR THE CONTRACTOR This class is a comprehensive class for the Responsible Person of Record for a Contractor’s License and any owners and managers of contracting companies.  The responsibilities of individuals, License requirements and Inspections are discussed in depth.  Who is responsible to supervise unlicensed individuals involved in Technology work?  Renewal and Continuing Education requirements are covered as well. This class meets the State requirement for Rules / Technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20200010 NEC Article 680 2020; This section of the code is what the Landscaping and irrigation people have been asking for, this part of the code is all about outdoor lighting and irrigation. Specific areas of interest are those with outdoor water features, pools, spas, fountains, and other man-made water features. 4 CEU Hours - 20200512 OUTDOOR LIGHTING 2021; This class is a 4-hour class covering the design, layout, equipment requirements, voltage calculations, and aesthetic considerations for outdoor lighting. The various types of lighting are discussed including LED lighting and precautions and safety considerations. Sizing of power supplies and lamp wattages as well as wire sizes with calculation tables are included. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20200233 SECURING & SUPPORTING 2020; Securing and supporting covers the rules for fastening cables and equipment in various environments. NEC Article 300.11 and the related articles in other articles are emphasized.  With the inspectors looking at our work, let us do it in a workmanlike manner.  This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

We are offering 2 new classes for the Satellite Installers.  SBCA Satellite Sytems installers Class and the Satellite Installers Exam Prep Class.  Follow this link to find out more on the SBCA classes.

Registered unlicensed RT/RE/RM classes are offered each month at the Roseville Location.  Registered unlicensed may also register for part of any day scheduled for Licensed Technicians.  It is important to keep in mind only those classes listed as NEC Code qualify for CEU’s for Unlicensed Registered Technicians.

Our classes are the most reasonable,cost effective classes you will find. PLT Services keeps a data base on all attendees, so we can help you not duplicate classes in the same renewal period.  But, you should still keep your certificates so you can keep track of your classes from license period to license period.

What does a full day cost? A full day is $185.00 Discounts apply for those who sign up for a second day when registering. Second day discount of $25 will apply if registration is done at the same time.

PLT SERVICES is a state approved Continuing Education training facility for the Power Limited Technician as well as Registered unlicensed techinicians, electricians, elevator contractors, and HVAC contractors.

Training is offered on a contract basis or through our regularly scheduled classes. Approval for all classes through the Department of Labor and Industry Construction Codes and Licensing Division.

PLT Services offers its classes throughout the state of Minnesota.  The CE Training for Minnesota AJ, AM, EL, EM, PLT, SSI and RT/RE/RM Technicians.
A discount of $25.00 per day will be given to anyone signing up for 2 days ask about group discounts also.
